The Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada is bringing its Launch you Career in Ag Mobile Skills Lab to Canada’s Farm Show.
The Mobile Skills Lab, introduced at last year’s Ag in Motion, offers an interactive experience of the various agricultural and manufacturing careers through virtual reality technology and experiential learning stations. It can be used at schools, careers fairs, trade shows and community events around the province.
Event organizers say this partnership between AMC and Canada’s Farm Show “brings together industry business leaders, academic institutions and government partners to showcase the diverse and rewarding career opportunities within agriculture and agricultural manufacturing. Through a multi-faceted approach, AMC aims to build awareness of the breadth of opportunities available in the sector, opening minds to the potential a career in agriculture can offer.”
“In and beyond the field, agriculture is an industry with unparalleled opportunities,” said Donna Boyd, president, Agricultural Manufacturers of Canada in a news release. “By increasing awareness and strengthening connections between employers, educators and job seekers, we are creating pathways for individuals to explore dynamic, future-focused careers in agriculture and ag manufacturing.”
“Canada’s Farm Show is dedicated to driving innovation and growth in our sector for the growing season ahead and the growing seasons to come. One of the ways we do this is supporting the next generation of talent,” says Carla Vipond, show director of Canada’s Farm Show. “Through this initiative, we’re creating valuable connections between job seekers, educators and industry leaders, ensuring a strong and skilled workforce to support the future of agriculture and manufacturing.”
AMC’s Mobile Skills Lab will be the second career-oriented initiative to be at the Farm Show. Agriculture in the Classroom Saskatchewan is hosting a thinkAG Career Expo March 18 and 19 for grade seven to ten students.
Canada’s Farm Show is March 18-20 from REAL District in Regina.
