Farmers under 40 will converge in Swift Current for FCC Young Farmer’s Summit

Swift Current is hosting another agriculture event, the FCC Young Farmer’s Summit.

It’s happening Tuesday at the Living Sky Casino from 10:00 to 3:30 p.m.

The event is for people under 40 years of age who are in the ag industry or are pursuing a career in the field. It’s purpose is to attract and engage the next generation of farmers, food manufacturers, and retailers by giving them real-world advice from speakers and network with peers.

FCC Senior Economist Graeme Crosbie is one of the speakers of the Young Farmer’s Summit. He will provide outlooks on interest rates, the Canadian Dollar, the cattle market and the grain & oilseed market. Crosbie is looking forward to presenting on Tuesday.

“The energy in the room is palpable,” Crosbie said. “The people that attend these young farmer events, they are super-engaged, they are very bright, they’re very passionate about agriculture and they’re place in it, so I love when I get to get out of the office and speak to external groups. When you get into a room with young, motivated people it’s extra exciting.”

Other speakers include Katelyn Duban (host of the Rural Woman Podcast), Erin Cote Blaquiere (Director of Farm Management Canada), Mark Verway (Partner with BDO), Brett Gardiner (Pro Rodeo Announcer and Mental Health Coach), Adrienne Levay (Consultant with Enterprise Machine Intelligence Learning Initiative a.k.a EMILI), and Annessa Good-Hassard (Transition Advisor & Farmer).
