-The Canadian Food Inspection Agency detected a positive case of Bovine Tuberculosis from a cow that came from a herd in Saskatchewan and slaughtered at a federally-regulated abattoir in Alberta. An investigation is underway to determine if there are more cases connected to the animal.
-Cattle prices in Saskatchewan dipped last week, a small setback on an otherwise good year for the market.
-Chief Agricultural Editor of SaskAgToday.com Kevin Hursh talked about his interview with Brenna Grant, the Executive Director of Canfax about reviewing 2024 for the cattle industry and asked her if there are signs to watch for the Canadian cattle herd expanding next year.
-Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s price forecast for principal field crops showed the price for canola going down and Hursh believes this will have implications on its price for the crop insurance program.
-The guys discuss the drama within the Liberal Party in Ottawa as well as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s cabinet shuffle on Friday.
-The Saskatchewan government touted its agri-food exports to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) increased year-over-year to $322 million with lentil exports leading the way at $174 million.
