Ford’s C-E-O says the automaker is reversing a decision not to install A-M radios in new vehicles.
Jim Farley says the decision comes after U-S government policy leaders voiced concerns about keeping emergency alerts that often are sounded on A-M stations.
Farley wrote that Ford will keep A-M radios in all 2024 Ford and Lincoln vehicles, and it will use an online software update to restore it in two 2023 electric vehicles.
Last week, a bipartisan group of U-S federal politicians introduced a bill calling on the government to require A-M radios in new vehicles at no additional cost.
