An unexpected win for Thunderstruck Ag

A winner of one of the Innovation Awards at Canada’s Farm Show was aware of being nominated but wasn’t expecting to win at all.

Jeremy Matuszewki, the CEO and Founder of Thunderstruck Ag, received the Emerging Innovator Award, which recognizes, “an up-and-coming Innovator to the agricultural sector who has made significant contributions to innovation in their field.”

“First reaction was being surprised and honoured,” Matuszewki said. “I was also really thankful for my team because all of the things that we do is not one man or one person does it, it’s a group and just blessed to have a pretty awesome team so yeah, it was super cool – never saw it coming.”

With 20 years experience in sales and marketing, and a motivation for helping farmers improve productivity, efficiency, and sustainability, Jeremy created a business that helps bridge the gap for farmers who may have a ground-breaking product but don’t have the resources to market them.

“We bring innovation to farmers that help solve problems on their farms. A lot of that innovation comes from other farmers where a farmer has had an idea on his farm that solves a problem and we help out those farmers market, distribute, sell their products to farmers around the world. Really, we’re problem solvers.” Matuszewki added.

The Winkler, Manitoba based business also creates agricultural products. An example from a news release from REAL notes Thunderstruck Ag created the Razor Edge concave, which “enhances threshing efficiency, reduces downtime, and increases yields. This product is successfully tested in North America and Australia, with a patent for its variable-spacing design.”

Their booth is located in the Viterra International Trade Centre – Hall #11 – booth #11561.
