Grain Deliveries by Canada’s Two Major Railways Decline in Week 18: Ag Transport Coalition

CN and CPKC Rail supplied a combined 66% of hopper cars ordered in grain week 18 – marking the lowest performance seen since week 4 and a further decline from the 73% order fulfillment performance seen in week 17.

That’s according to the Ag Transport Coalition.

In supplying 57% of cars ordered by shippers in week 18 CN performance deteriorated from the 65% order fulfillment performance seen the prior week.

CN performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a twentieth straight week.

CPKC performance also saw a modest decline, with the railway supplying 76% of shipper orders in week 18 as compared to the 81% performance seen the prior week.

CPKC performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a second straight week.
