On the first SaskAgToday.com Roundtable of December with Chief Agricultural Editor of SaskAgToday.com Kevin Hursh, 620 CKRM AgriNews Director Ryan Young, and GX94 Agriculture Director Doug Falconer:

-The Provincial Auditor’s report noted shortfalls in how the Saskatchewan Farmland Security Board reviews land transactions and deals with the issue of foreign ownership of farmland. The Provincial Agriculture Minister, Daryl Harrison, had a different view of the report.

-The Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) has a new president in Bill Prybylski, a farmer from the Willowbrook area in east-central Saskatchewan.

-Statistics Canada released the final crop production estimate report for 2024 with the big story being canola’s production decreasing 7% from last year. Canola prices seem to have respond positively to the report.

-While there were a lot of kids at Canadian Western Agribition, it was down compared to previous years according to Agribition CEO Shaun Kindopp.
