Former Agriculture Minister Lyle Stewart passes away

Lyle Stewart, former Agriculture Minister and SaskParty MLA for Thunder Creek and Lumsden-Morse from 1999 until his retirement from politics last year, has passed away after a lengthy battle with cancer. He was 73.

Premier Scott Moe made the announcement on Facebook Tuesday. Moe described Stewart as “a man of few words…but you always knew where he stood.”

Moe went on to say, “On behalf of our government and the province, I want to express my deepest condolences to the family and many friends of Lyle Stewart. Flags at the Legislature will be lowered to half-mast in his honour.”

More to come.
