Global AgTech Summit, AgTech Accelerator Program make up Day Two of Canada’s Farm Show

The Global AgTech Summit is featured in the first half of the second day of Canada’s Farm Show on Wednesday.

The Summit begins at 10:15 a.m. with a panel discussion featuring alumni from the AgTech Accelerator Program, as they will share “experiences, challenges, and visions for driving innovation in AgTech” according to the description on the Canada’s Farm Show website.

Chris Paterson with Tall Grass Ventures is the Keynote speaker at 10:45 a.m.; Paterson will cover the state of AgTech and “discover farmer adoption rates and sentiments for the future of agriculture technology.”

Rounding out the morning of Global AgTech Summit presentations is a live, on-stage podcast session featuring the President and CEO of Farm Credit Canada Justine Hendricks, President of Hebert Group Kristjan Hebert, and President & Co-Founder of Maverick Ag Ltd Evan Shout. They will “explore the latest trends, challenges, and breakthroughs shaping the future of agriculture.”

There is a product launch scheduled for Noon according to the CFS website, however there is no mention of who is doing it.

At 1 p.m. an investor panel will share insights and strategies into high-potential technologies in agriculture, as well as share nuances into evaluating AgTech start-ups and their potential growth and impact.

The AgTech Accelerator program will take the stage at 1:30 p.m. as 16 AgTech companies – nine Canadian, one Australian, and five from the U.K. – will ” pitch their innovations in hopes of securing a deal with investors in the audience. “

Kris Heksha, Director of Biofibre Strategy & Innovation with Red Leaf Pulp Alternative Fibre & Renewable Energy will be doing a presentation on Value-added Manufacturing of Agriculture Biomass at 4 p.m.

Finishing off Day two is an evening of networking among exhibitors from 5-7 p.m.

The theme for Wednesday is Innovation Day, presented by Farms.com and Greenwave.
