Eggs recalled in Sask. due to possible salmonella contamination

The threat of possible salmonella contamination has triggered a food recall in Saskatchewan.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says several egg brands, including Compliments large eggs, Harman medium eggs, No-name large eggs, Star Egg medium, large, and extra-large eggs, are on the recall list.

Only eggs with the specific lot code information in the table below are affected.

The CFIA said that if you think you have become sick from consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.

If consumers are unsure if they have purchased the recalled product, they are also advised by the CFIA to contact their retailer.

The recalled products should be thrown out or returned to where they were purchased.

Food contaminated with Salmonella may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick.

Most healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as fever, headache, vomiting, nausea, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.

Young children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems may contract serious and sometimes deadly infections.
