Spring weight restrictions affecting provincial truck traffic in Saskatchewan will come into effect this Friday.
Truckers hauling goods or cargoes on secondary highways in Saskatchewan are advised to monitor their weights closely to avoid fines and prevent damage to the provincial highway network.
Municipal road bans are applied each spring by rural municipalities and typically reduce allowable road weights by 10 to 15 percent.
Typically, the road restrictions begin in March, once winter weights end on March 15. However, due to colder weather last month, restrictions were delayed.
The 2023 spring restrictions will remain in place for up to six weeks.
