Alberta man charged with improper care of livestock

Alberta RCMP have charged a Wheatland County man with causing unnecessary suffering to animals and selling un-inspected meat, after they were called to look into reports of someone who was slaughtering sick and injured cattle.

Mounties say when they got onto the property, they found employees actively slaughtering cattle.

During the investigation, they say they also found evidence the cattle weren’t being adequately fed or cared for.

They say some of the animals were sick, while un-inspected meat was being sold from the site.

59 year old Peter Wiebe is facing a list of charges and is due in Drumheller court later this month.
