Canada’s Two Major Railways Still Struggling to Keep Up With Grain Deliveries in Week 25: Ag Transport Coalition

CN and CPKC Rail supplied a combined 65% of hopper cars ordered in grain week 25, a modest improvement from the 64% order fulfillment performance seen in week 24, and now not having supplied 70% of shipper orders for three consecutive weeks.

That’s according to the Ag Transport Coalition.

In supplying 74% of cars ordered by shippers in week 25, CN performance declined slightly from the 79% order fulfillment performance seen the prior week.

CN performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a twenty-seventh straight week.

CPKC performance improved slightly, with the railway supplying 54% of shipper orders in week 25 as compared to the 52% order fulfillment performance seen the prior week.

CPKC performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a ninth straight week.
