Canada’s Two Major Railways See Drop in Week 19 Grain Deliveries: Ag Transport Coalition

CN and CPKC Rail supplied a combined 57% of hopper cars ordered in grain week 19 – marking the lowest performance seen since week 4 and a further decline from the 67% order fulfillment performance seen in week 18.

That’s according to the Ag Transport Coalition.

In supplying 38% of cars ordered by shippers in week 19 CN performance deteriorated from the 57% order fulfillment performance seen the prior week.

CN performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a twenty-first straight week.

CPKC performance saw a marginal decline with the railway supplying 76% of shipper orders in week 19 as compared to the 77% performance seen the prior week.

CPKC performance remains below the 90% performance threshold for a third straight week.
