Next year the primary focus of Canada’s Farm Show

Canada’s Farm Show is looking ahead to next year and highlighted a few things from this year’s show.

While already announced, a news release from REAL mentioned the new dates for next year – March 18-20 – in an effort to attract more people to the show and to “align more with the evolving industry.”

The Launch Pad saw a number of speakers and programming during this year’s show, from the Premier’s Breakfast, to the Global Ag Tech Summit, Launch you Career in Ag event, an announcement of Farm Credit Canada supporting the Global Institute for Food Security with a $5-million investment, and the Coffee Chat with former Premier Brad Wall.

The 24-hour AgTech Startup contest saw 26 participants with Feed Flow taking first place, the Best Tech award going to Ag Mentor, and the People’s Choice award going to Scan My Herd.

This year’s Innovation Award winners were Devloo Roto Mud Scrapers, Wilger Industries Limited, and KOMB Ag Services.

What wasn’t included in the news release was statistics related to attendance, exhibitors, international visitors, and how many business deals were done at the show.

When asked before the news release was published if those numbers would be included, a spokesperson from REAL said in an email, “We acknowledge there were some challenges with the show this year. Prior to the show many discussions with partners, farmers and stakeholders took place which informed our decision to reimagine the show with new dates. We are now focusing on the future of CFS and look forward to March 2025.”
